STGA are committed to supporting women by providing basic needs, connecting with them via conversations, and to support by connecting them to the right services. The Outreach Project is not just about giving away bras and toiletries, it is about working alongside services. Our purpose and aim is to have conversations with women, make them feel valued and acknowledged and assist in some small way with the social isolation that so many women and girls encounter.

There are two main benefits to our Outreach Projects.

Firstly, we get to engage and connect with more women, especially those in need. We aim to build relationships with Indigenous services and communities to see how we can assist them in the wellbeing of their community. Our focus is to build relationships with services for women who truly need our help. There are probably at least 30% of women that attend our metro events that are in a financial position to be able to afford a bra or underwear; which means we are not seeing the volume of women that genuinely need help. However, we do see those women when we venture out in the van with the Outreach project.

The second benefit is for the services. We know only too well that most services are extremely time poor and governed by lack of funding. So we are assisting them to add another layer of support to their clients. It is a win-win situation.
