As a non for profit there are so many areas that we need support on. Obviously, the biggest issue any non profit faces is funding and product. No organisation can run on air and to be able to keep Support The Girls Australia functioning and operating takes funding.
With your support we can also create the much needed social enterprise facilities required to help empower women. We want to assist women to function independently but also become a valued community member with skills. We also want to increase the assistance to those elderly and vulnerable people that do not have the capacity to go into independent living but still need support with bras and underwear to provide them with a sense of dignity.
Like a lot of smaller unique non for profits, financial support is always a struggle. We thankfully survived COVID even though it was a financial disaster for us. Grants were few and far between and most Australians were struggling to survive. Our costs increased dramatically as we had to suddenly budget for things like masks, bio degradable plates (no more crockery for morning teas), safety equipment etc.
We are now heading into 2024 and the demand for our services has expanded to a level we could never have imagined. Support The Girls Australia does not have any paid staff apart from the CEO who is on a small income. To grow and expand the charity into further regions as well as acquire professional warehousing vs storage units we need your help.
We need to increase the infrastructure of Support The Girls Australia due to the demand for our services. We require a few paid staff to assist the CEO in running the charity. We have an incredible team of volunteers that support sorting all the incoming donations, assisting in running the bra gifting events and supporting rural outreaches, but we need staff to assist with marketing, and administration.
We need your financial assistance. The rental crisis, housing affordability, grocery affordability has made everyday living so much harder for the average Australian and specifically women. Purchasing simple items like bras, underwear and menstrual products have now become luxury items. This is wrong.
Our big drive for 2024 will be to reach more remote communities. Thanks to a successful grant from the Queensland Government in 2019 we have our Outreach Van that permits us to facilitate our Outreach Project but it takes funding to take teams to these communities.
We need to cover fuel expenses not only for the van but to cover the cost of our wonderful volunteers travel and accommodation. To host an Outreach event in rural communities costs us in the region of $5000 if the location is within a 4-6 hour driving window. So this is going to be our big focus for funding this upcoming year.

We so often get requests on how we can do something more personal for women in need and we have come up with our beautiful custom “CARE PACKS”
We have created 3 styles to choose from. You can one of these and elect to have it gifted to a women in need. We will be able to identify the recipients based on their need.
If you are looking for something different for a birthday present, this is a great gift to give. You and your friend collectively can empower a woman with a Care Pack.
We can also add a personalised gift card to the care pack so that the recipient knows who the gift has come from.

Bra and Other Donations
We accept any preloved bras in good condition or brand new. We have to be really fussy with all the bras that we receive. We are all about empowering women and to do that we have to give them the best quality bras possible. Just any bra does not work. If bras are too preloved they cannot be fitted correctly, especially when the sides of the bras are overstretched. The best way to look at it is if you would to receive it and wear it, we will take it.
